Three quotes, three days. Day one

I thank Exploring the world around us for inviting me to the Three Quotes for Three Days challenge.  Rules and nominees below this post.

If you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right!  Henry Ford

The first time I heard this I got it!  Perhaps just another way of saying, stay positive which, lets face it, isn’t always easy, but somehow this quote drilled right through my rather dense skull and actually reached my brain!

Now we can’t get silly about this of course, because no matter how much I might want to be – oh I don’t know, let’s say a genetic physicist (if there is such a thing?!), I know that’s just not going to happen!  I don’t have the academic ability, nor for that matter the desire.  I could however, get to a point of running (in the loosest context of the word) a half marathon.  I enjoy running, want to get better at it, and actually believe this an achievable goal. But, were I to doubt myself, tell myself i had no chance of achieving this because I was not good, not fit enough, too old etc, etc, – then I would never achives it because I would try hard enough.  What would be the point?  YOU see where I’m going with this don’t you?

Within the bounds of your capabilities, you need to hold on to your dreams and keep going – you will get there.  Don’t speak negativity over yourselves, it doesn’t take very long before you believe it to be the truth, but it’s a false truth.

Give yourself a break.  Give yourself a pat on the back every step you take, however small, because as long as those steps are going forward, each one is in the right direction and takes you a little closer to where you want to be; to your dreams.

If you think you can, or if you think you can’t, you’re right!

Be kind to yourselves today and always. God bless ☺️
