  1. “Every day people are straying away from the Church and going back to God.” To me, it should say that going back to God is going back to the Church in some respects. Church is in Acts in the bible and Peter built the first church on a Rock. It was outside. So Church is the People.

    1. I know what you mean, and I agree that Church is the people but, this particular quote relates to those who have, sadly, been hurt and/or put off attending conventional churches. I have experienced it myself in the past so, depending on how strong your faith already is, a situation where you are made to feel unwelcome or ‘not good enough’ can seriously put people off all together.
I read a great book recently by a Vicar from London, you might want to check it out, it’s called ‘How to be a Bad Christian and a Better Human Being’ by Dave Tomlinson. Although not connected, it makes even more sense of this quote. Be blessed my friend 🙂 xxx

      1. Thanks for writing and clarification. I, too, have been not felt welcome at most churches. It’s because I smoke cigarettes. I was involved with the church for years while I raised my daughter as a single mother. One day a kid was rude to my daughter but she did not tell me until she got home. She said the teacher stuck up for the other girl. I left the church and never went back. I did find an evangelical church, for awhile. I left it too. I do read the bible daily and loved your quote. I am going to get the book for sure! Thanks so much, Jackie 🙂
