Hello dear readers 🙂 I’m a little behind on the 31 Days of December, but here is my post for day six.
“Little Things” is today’s prompt from Kurilane
The little things in life can seem insignificant at the time and we dont always recognise their true worth, but it’s those little things in life that can occasionally, literally save someone’s life.
I’m sure there are other stories about someone was literally saved by the unexpected kindness of a total stranger, but listen to this young man’s experience.
Wonderful isn’t it?
Mental health is such a difficult thing to have to deal with, both for the person suffering and for their loved ones. It can take time before some behaviours are recognised as a mental illness and people can get brushed off being told to ‘pull yourself together’. Thing is, a sufferer really can’t just ‘pull themselves together’ and they don’t always know why themselves but they need help; compassion, patience, support.
There is more awareness these days so please, don’t let someone you know – or allow yourself to suffer in silence, or alone. Here are some links that might help make a world of difference, or at least point you in the right direction.
On a happier note, what was the thing that made me smile today?
Among other things, since April of this year I started working part-time as a Church Administrator. I love my job, I work with, and meet, some really lovely people. A couple of times now there have been surprises hidling for me in the office, just little things. For instance in the fridge one day I found a wrapped chocolate, the sort you get in a box of Celebrations. The same day I then found a small chocolate biscuit bar in one of the desk drawers, and then last week Little Ted turned up in the post box. (I know I’m supposed to be writing about today but I smiled again when I thought of this).
There little things warmed my heart because someone, who didn’t need to, performed little acts of random kindness knowing it would bring a smile to my face. How lovely is that ☺️
What little thing has someone done for you that warmed your heart and made you smile?
